Interface ValueDomain
- All Known Implementing Classes:
- TimeDomain
public interface ValueDomain
Characterises a domain of values. Sub-interfaces of this type may have
functionality such as numeric conversions associated with them.
Values in the same domain can be meaningfully used in the same context,
for instance compared against each other.
A typical usage is to provide conversions to a range with
the same units and zero point, giving something like a one-dimensional
coordinate frame, but without necessarily modelling all the
subtleties that can be associated with coordinates.
Its main job is to untangle different possible representations of
physical values in input data.
